Two Southwell runners today-
It’s another beautiful day for racing, and Ursa Major Racing is proud to send out two runners this evening at Southwell – Baby Rover in the 6.20pm and Noble Consort in the 8.00pm.
Baby Rover returns to the track under the care of Katie Scott. While he’s been showing promising signs at home, it’s fair to say he’s yet to replicate that promise on the racecourse. That said, small improvements are beginning to show, and we’re hoping today could be the day he takes a more significant step forward. A big run is needed to give us confidence that Baby Rover has a future in the sport. William Pyle takes the ride today – there’s a clear plan in place, and all eyes will be on how it plays out.
Later on, Noble Consort lines up for the ever-reliable partnership of Julie Camacho and Ryan Sexton. This will be his first run since January, but there’s real cause for optimism. We feel we’ve found the key to unlocking his potential – he thrives when allowed to get on with things from the front. That was proven in his last outing, where he made all to win stylishly. Interestingly, the runner-up from that race is now rated 77, which could suggest that Noble Consort is well-handicapped heading into tonight’s contest.
Stall 1 is another positive – especially welcome news given the string of unfortunate draws Ursa Major horses have endured recently.
As always, the most important thing is that our horses come home safe and sound. Best of luck to all connections involved – let’s hope for a successful evening under the lights at Southwell
