Noble Consort Gallops to Glory in Stunning Finish
Today marks the biggest day in the horse racing calendar — Grand National Day. It’s the one day of the year where families, friends, and fans from all walks of life come together to have a little flutter and watch our incredible sport. It’s a day full of dreams, and for many members of Ursa Major Racing, it represents a long-term goal. One day, we hope to have our colours lining up at Aintree — and we can’t wait for you to be there with us when that dream becomes reality.
Before all eyes turned to Aintree, we had two exciting runners out on Friday — Baby Rover and Noble Consort — both of whom gave us plenty to cheer about.
Baby Rover Battles On at Southwell
First up was Baby Rover, making her debut at Southwell. Things didn’t start ideally — she ducked right out of the gates, giving up many lengths to her rivals. At that point, it looked like the race was lost. But in true fighting spirit, Baby Rover rallied hard, reeling in the field and finishing a very respectable fourth.
It was a gutsy, determined run that speaks volumes about her potential. Trainer Katie Scott has worked wonders with her, and the improvement echoes memories of another of our stars, Jumeira Vision. We’re confident Baby Rover’s day will come — and soon. She’s come out of the race well, a little tired (and deservedly so!), but she’ll now enjoy a well-earned rest before her next outing.
Noble Consort Returns a Winner
The highlight of the day came with Noble Consort, making his first appearance since January following a bleeding episode. Thanks to the patience of his owners and the expert care from Julie and Steve, Noble Consort returned not just to run — but to win in style.
Under a perfectly judged ride by Ryan Sexton, Noble was settled just behind the leaders. As the field began to come under pressure around the bend, Noble Consort was still cruising. He swept past his rivals with ease, only challenged late by the race favourite — who had won his last three starts — but Ryan never needed to go full throttle. It was a confident, classy performance that made the wait more than worth it.
This victory was a testament to teamwork and belief — well done to Julie, Steve, Ryan, and all of Noble Consort’s owners. Plans are already underway for his next outing, and we’re incredibly excited about what’s to come.
