  • Event Of Sivola

Event of Sivola was the epitome of a true jumping horse—built for stamina and heart, he could run all day, and we often wished there were races over 6 miles to see just how far he could go. A beloved favorite at Mark Walford’s yard, Event of Sivola was adored by all the staff, with one particular caretaker, Christine, who captured the hearts of everyone at Ursa Major. With 7 wins from 46 starts, he took a little time to find his stride in this country, but once he did, he soared, notably winning at Perth by over 14 lengths in April 2024. At the peak of his career, his jumping was exceptional—until an unfortunate fall in his next race, where his remarkable ability led to a fatal injury. In honor of his legacy, a race is run every year at Hexham, his favorite track, to remember the horse who gave so much to the sport and to those who loved him.
