A Special Day at Aintree for a True Ursa Legend

While our focus is usually on the runners representing Ursa Major Racing, today we turn our attention to someone who has long been a pillar of our club—Mark Walford.

This afternoon, Mark saddles Battle Born Lad in the prestigious Grade 1 at 4:40pm at Aintree. Ridden by another Ursa favourite, Jamie, the entire club is united in wishing the pair the very best of luck.

Coming into the race off the back of a double for Mark and rated 134, Battle Born Lad now steps onto the kind of stage that many of us can only dream of. But for someone as dedicated, hardworking, and respected as Mark, there’s no doubt he’s earned every moment of this opportunity.
