If Carlsberg did racing managers..

Well. What can we say after yesterday - anybody following our racing manager Craig Talbot, you will be very happy at the moment!

Racing kicked off and both Mark and Craig were very sweet on the skeletons chances.. not looking the easiest of rides- The New Lion came to lead within the last 100 yards and started the day of perfectly.

With the short priced favourite Ballyburn expected to win the brown advisory comfortably, being tipped by both Katie and Jonny - their fate was soon realised as Ballyburn made a big mistake and even with a lot of the race left, did not recover from earlier mistakes and ultimately cost it in the long run. A surprise winner at 20/1- it was no surprise non of our panel had it picked out!

Onto the Coral cup and it was once again the moment for Craig and Greg to step up - with a starting price of 16/1 and not having a run since may 2024, it came with surprise and delight as up the hill, Jimmy Du Seuil pulled away, staring on very strongly and impressively. That made it 2 on the day for Craig and a fantastic 16/1 to make the win even sweeter!

The cross country had our panelist Greg’s nap of the meeting and with the backing of inform Craig - was it any surprise at this point Stumptown drew clear by 7 length and showed exactly why they were on URSA expert panel! Even with a slipped saddle the Gavin Cromwell horse looked very impressive and was not much doubt in minds of anyone following along.

The Queen mother champion chase gave mixed opinions with our panel - Mark and Katie deciding on favourite Jonbon and Craig, Greg and Jonny all deciding on 5/1 shot Marine Nationale - based on the previous form of today. It’s not hard to predict which ones of our panellists got the winner- it was an amazing 4 winners for Craig on the day (7 in total) and 3 winners for Greg (4 in total)

Next up the grand annual - with the favourite being 11/2 and fancied by both Craig and Jonny, both however were only able to secure a second place with the Skelton horse looking to try stay on to get headed at the last hurdle.

Last up is the Champion bumper - another tricky race with a 17 runner field, mixed opinions from our panel with 5 different selections but it was Katie who managed to find the winner. At 4/1 it was another Mullins winner and wrapped up the day nicely with another great day racing at Cheltenham and what can we say about the tipping? Craig has blown everybody away so far with his fantastic tipping and has helped many owners pay training fees.. Only at URSA MAJOR🩷💛
