Saturday Recap -

Chasingouttheblues at Uttoxeter

Chasingouttheblues took part in the JenningsBet Handicap Hurdle at Uttoxeter yesterday, and while the final result, a 10th place finish, was not what we had hoped for, we remain proud of the horse’s performance. The gelding started the race well, settling comfortably in mid-division, but as the race progressed, he began to lose his position and was unable to find the necessary pace in the final stages.

One highlight of the day was having Chasingouttheblues race live on ITV, offering a fantastic opportunity for our racing club and supporters to witness his journey on national television. This exposure was an exciting moment for all of us, and we are grateful for the platform to showcase our horse to a wider audience.

Although the outcome was not ideal, we are confident that with the right rest and preparation, Chasingouttheblues will return to form in future races. There were no health concerns following the race, and we will continue to assess his progress as we plan his next steps. We greatly appreciate the continued support from all our members and followers, and we look forward to seeing Chasing Out the Blues back on the track soon.

Julie Camacho Stable Visit

Members of Ursa Major gathered today at Julie Camacho’s Star Cottage Stables in Malton to see their horses—Noble Consort, May Blossom, and the two-year-old Secretinthesky—as they commence training for the forthcoming flat racing season. The visit provided owners with an opportunity to engage firsthand with the horses and gain insights into their training regimens.

The day was marked by informative discussions and a tour of the facilities, allowing owners to appreciate the environment in which their horses are being prepared. Photographs capturing moments from the visit, along with video clips shared via WhatsApp to members who could not attend- take a exclusive sneak peak of some below!

Looking ahead we have additional stable tours planned, aiming to further engage members and offer deeper insights into the training processes.

Stable tours at Michael Dods, Mark Walford and Sam England are to follow in the coming weeks..

For more updates and details on upcoming activities, we have a very busy week ahead.. Follow our socials or keep checking the daily blog!
