Recap of Saturday -

It’s been a busy few days for our team, with three consecutive days of racing at Ursa Major and another trip to Carlisle to go. While results didn’t go entirely our way, the horses gave their all, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Ashington Battles Tough Conditions

First up on Saturday was Ashington, returning to the track after a brilliant win under Paddy Barlow. Confidence was high among his owners, but as always, the priority was bringing him home safely.

With good ground listed in the race conditions, everything looked set for a strong follow-up performance. However, the ground staff had unfortunately overwatered the track, turning it softer than ideal for Ashington. Despite this, he put in his usual battling display, finishing 5th in a highly competitive 16-runner field at odds of 17/2.

Now, after a quick turnaround in just eight days, Ashington heads out for a well-earned break in the field—something he’s certainly grown accustomed to alongside the sheep!

Darlo Pride: A Tough Draw & Well-Earned Rest

Next, we were back to Newcastle for the second time in three days, this time with Darlo Pride. It’s fair to say 2025 has been an unlucky year for him, and unfortunately, that trend continued with a challenging draw in stall 2—often a difficult position at Newcastle.

This played a big part in the race, as his experienced jockey struggled to get Darlo covered up early on. As a result, he was forced to use his finishing kick too soon, rather than unleashing his trademark late surge.

After a busy winter campaign, Darlo will now enjoy an extended break before returning stronger next season. His owners are incredibly proud of his efforts—he’s earned the nickname “Mr. Consistent”, as Paul Mulrennan described him. We can’t wait to see him back in action next year!

Carlisle Awaits: Heritier & Glory and Honour

Looking ahead to Sunday, we have a double representation in the 2:45 Go North One Man Series Final at Carlisle. Both Heritier and Glory and Honour take their chance, and the weather will be a key factor in deciding their performances.

Heritier thrives on heavy ground, while

• Glory and Honour prefers good ground.

With this in mind, our owners and team have discussed tactics to ensure we have a plan in place regardless of conditions.

This might be our last shot at a winner in the Go North Series Finals, but we’ve had a fantastic few days, with over 60 owners on course across the past four days. Most importantly, every horse has come home safely, and we look forward to the next challenge!

Coming Soon: Our Mini Documentary

We’ve been capturing all the action behind the scenes, and we’re excited to announce that a mini documentary will be released soon! Keep an eye out for it—it’s one you won’t want to miss.

Onwards and upwards—we go again!
