A morning with Michael

As the Spring has sprung, its all systems go at the Michael Dods stable. Racing manager Craig Talbot took a trip to Denton Hall to have a check up and get updates on our horses with Michael himself - See below pictures and up-to-date summary of how Dods’ string is getting along..

Darlo pride( pictured top left ) is possibly the star of the show in terms of URSA horses with Michael. Having 12 starts - 2 wins and 5 places, the dream was alive as Darlo was perusing the Arc bonus. Unfortunatly his feburary got cut short and was only able to produce 1 run which was detremetnal to his hopes of at least having a shot of winning the winter bonus. However he is back, after a short rest he will be heading to Newcastle on friday to hopefully rack up some more points because he may not win the whole thing but his owners are still in line for some nice prize money!

Mali and Me (pictured middle left) , If you look through the timeline of pictures of mali. everytime media is sent through from the dods lot, he looks totally different. Filling up in his frame Michael is happy with how he is progressing. Frustrating as it was not getting mali on track as a 2 year old. in hindsite this looks like a very clever decision from micahel and team as he has filled up tremedously well and his owners are very much looking forward to getting onto track very shortly!

Northern Tempest (pictured middle right) - This is a 2 year old that does not look like a 2 year old; Working this morning you could see the determinaton in the horse to want to get in front- such a great thing to see from a young horse . Michael feels he will be nice and early as he has filled out really well and travells sweetly at home. Everyone likes what they see from this one and we cant wait to see her on track soon.

Kalganov (pictured right) - Even though Kalganov’s form is not pretty on the eye at the moment. Michael feels we have kalgnov getting back to his best . 15lb below his last winning mark and with a couple of runs under his belt this year we could end up seeing Kalgonov reliving his old form and possibly giving his owners a sequence of results all through the summer. Rhys elliot is booked for Fridays race. We welcome Rhys back under our silks for the first time after his injury. before then he had become an ursa owners favourite!

Michael is holding an owners stable visit in april - one of many stable visits going on in march and april -
