Queen Candescence ready for ITV date

We’re letting ourselves dream big - as Candescence lines up in a £30,000 race live on ITV.

The recently crowned World Cup of Ursa winner will be partnered by Dougie Costello as she lines up at Hamilton on Sunday at 5.18pm for the Sunday Series Sprint Handicap.

The contest - worth more than £18,000 to the winner - will be broadcast live on ITV4.

The Class 3 Handicap over 5f is very competitive but we all know Candescence is banging on the door with two seconds this season at Wolverhampton.

She had also been entered to run at Ascot tomorrow with dual Classic winning jockey James Doyle in the plate, but we preferred the Hamilton option due to ground conditions.

Craig Talbot, Racing Manager, said: “It is absolutely thrilling to have Candescence ready and entered on Sunday on ITV4 with Ursa favourite Dougie in the saddle.

“She is so talented and probably the unluckiest horse in training - she deserved a big one and lets hope this is it.

“It is a very competitive race - as you would expect for this kind of prize money - but you have to be in it to win it and she has a nice racing weight and we aren’t too bothered by the draw.

“Mark (Walford, trainer) has done a magnificent job with her and this will be an occasion for all of us to cherish.”
