A fine third for Furax
Furax had his best run in Ursa colours with a fine third at Perth.
The seven-year-old grey, trained by Micky Hammond and ridden by Jack Hogan, was beaten just over a length after dropping down to 2m4f.
It was a fine performance and with a couple of better jumps he may have got up.
He had an official mark of 127 when arriving from France so off 95 could pick up a win very soon.
Craig Talbot, Racing Manager, said: “It was a much better run from Furax who has been disappointing until today.
“It seems this distance is for him and we will give him another go in the hope he can pick a race up.
“We are really happy with that and hope he builds on it.”
