Happy retirement to Kodimoor

We are saddened yet proud to announce the retirement of Kodimoor.

The nine-year-old living legend won four of his 40 starts in the Battenberg silks over three years with our top trainer Mark Walford.

He has brought endless joy to his owners, trainer and all those who have spent time with him over the last three years.

But after showing signs he was ready for his pipe and slippers we have decided to retire him from racing.

The impact he has had on Ursa Major is immeasurable and put the club on the map with his three wins in 22 days in the summer of 2019.

He then won again last May in a career that spanned 79 races, six wins and yielded £35,000 in prize money.

Craig Talbot, Racing Manager, said: “It truly is the end of an era and it brings with it great sadness that we are retiring Kodimoor.

“He has given all his owners over the years so much enjoyment and fun - it was always a rollercoaster ride with him, he was such fun.

“His three wins in a row is a monumental achievement and one I am not sure we will ever beat and he will never be forgotten.

“We will make sure he has a loving home and a happy retirement because he is the ultimate Ursa Major legend.”
