Five runners make for a perfect weekend
Ursa Major Racing has FIVE runners this weekend, making it one of the most incredible in our history.
Things kick off at Gosforth Park on Friday, where Justathimble runs in our colours for a new partnership with Katie Scott in the 6.45.
It is a tough old race, but she is nicely bred and we look forward to her carrying the Battenbergs.
That’s followed by Fortuitous Star in the 7.15 and what a horse she has been for us this year. Racing for the eighth time here she has come second twice and third twice and is already looking like she will make a superb three year old.
But that’s not before running here! It’s a tough race but if she runs to her best she won’t be far off at all.
We then turn out attention to Kelso on Saturday where we have three runners - Melburnian, Ingleby Mackenzie and the returning Moonlight Glory.
All three have decent each way chances but probably need differing conditions to show their absolute best.
Melanie has been doing us proud this year and deserves a win. She is back over hurdles and would probably welcome ground on the soft side of good.
Ingleby Mackenzie is settling in brilliantly with Ewan and won’t want to much rainfall - but another sound run would be great.
Moonlight Glory is returning after six months off and will possibly need the run - but every drop of rain will help her.
Craig Talbot, Racing Manager of Ursa Major, said: “It is absolutely unbelievable to have five runners in two days this weekend - it is what dreams are made of.
“They all have chances to a certain degree, but given the time of year and circumstances, they will come on for this and teach us plenty. It is going to be a brilliant winter ahead.
“These big days are what we are all about - we are a community and support each other and getting this amount of owners on track is fantastic.”
