Final Edgar back on track

Final Edgar lines up today in the 2:20 at Hexham, with the race splitting into two divisions—on paper, he appears to have the more favorable assignment. Unfortunately, he recently picked up a virus, which, combined with necessary medication, ruled him out of the Go North Finals. However, the team at Mark Walford’s yard is confident that he is now back to his energetic best.

Jamie Hamilton, the only jockey to have won on Edgar, takes the reins once again. While this will be Edgar’s first run at Hexham, Mark Walford has an impressive record at the track—perhaps thanks to the testing hill at home that helps his horses finish strongly.

At the time of writing, it seems Ursa Major Racing owners have already shown their support, with Edgar’s price shortening significantly. However, with strong backing from Ireland as well, it could be punters across the water who recognize the ability in our boy.

Wishing the best of luck to Edgar and all connections!
