Owners drop in to visit Mark Walford

Several Ursa Major owners marked the Easter break by dropping in to pay Mark Walford a visit.

A group of half a dozen of us made our way to Cornborough on a glorious morning in the Yorkshire countryside, receiving a warm welcome from the team.

They were introduced to all Ursa horses in their stables and were free to feed their heroes carrots, give them a stroke and pose for selfies.

They were also lucky enough to watch Kodimoor lead a string of younger horses up the gallops and see Diamant Sur Canape school over hurdles and poles.

The visit ended with tea, cake and chocolates with Mark, his family and team.

Andrew Morris, one of the owners present, said: “You could not wish to meet a better group of people than the Walford family and the staff at Cornborough.

“Nothing was too much trouble and we spent a good couple of hours at the yard, where everybody was so friendly and welcoming.

“It was so exciting to get to meet the three horses I am lucky enough to have shares in - Ghadbbaan, Kodimoor and Moonlight Glory - and all the others as well.

“The new open air stable area where Battle Angel resides is especially eye-catching and I know Mark said he really feels it helps certain sorts of horses.

“Thanks to Mark and everybody for making it such a memorable morning.”
