Cheltenham runner amongst a Friday foursome
It’s going to be an awesome foursome Friday with Ashington becoming our first Cheltenham runner as one of a quadruple of chances on the day.
Making Ursa dreams come true, seven-year-old Ashington (Mark Walford/Tom Midgley) will become our first runner at Prestbury Park in the 1.10 Conditional Jockey’s Hurdle over 2m5f.
There’s no rest for the wicked as Cabinet Maker (Rebecca Menzies/Phil Dennis) has his second start in the Battenbergs in the 1.35 at Newcastle over 1m4f.
Kath’s Toyboy (Murphy & Keady/Taylor Fisher) bids to make it two wins in 10 days in the 4.55 at Wolverhampton but is saddled with top weight.
And an incredible day is rounded off at 5.35, with Texas Boy (Rebecca Menzies/Phil Dennis) aiming to put his best foot forward over 7f.
Craig Talbot, Racing Manager, said: “To say I am excited would be an understatement. It has long been my dream to have an Ursa runner at Cheltenham and I am utterly delighted Mark has Ashington in great form for this.
“Like every race at Cheltenham, it will be extremely competitive, but he ran a cracker last time and has place form at the track.
“He is far from our only chance though and I expect all three of our all weather runners to put up bold shows as well.
“Just 10 days after recording our first double, it feels amazing to be reaching another considerable milestone.”
