Busy week as three runners hit the track

It’s certainly been a busy start to the week for Ursa with three runners, a new purchase and an appearance from an old friend.

Mr Shady, Cityzen Serg and Graystown all made the track on Tuesday and Wednesday, with plenty of positives to take out of the runs.

Mr Shady was running over 2m at Southwell where he came fifth, with Phil Dennis saying he didn’t stay the trip and should come back down to 1m4f on the flat.

It was another solid run and the handicapper has eased him since his Newcastle run, so there’s certainly no reason to think he won’t be a superb addition to our ranks.

Graystown put two non-completions behind him to finish at fine sixth at Catterick. He jumped really well and with this race under his belt should be winning again at his favourite track Hexham before we know it.

The one sad note of the week was that Cityzen Serg finished sixth in the claimer at Lingfield on Tuesday. He has not lived up to our hopes on the track, despite being brilliant at home and he will now head for the sales.

We have made a very exciting purchase today in the shape of Melburnian and more about that purchase and her future will be revealed very soon.

Finally, our old boy Clifftop Heaven was in action for his new connections at Lingfield on Monday, finishing down the field in the 1m5f handicap. We wish him the best of luck for the future, he left nothing but fond memories with Ursa members.
