WINNER: Wreck It Ryley makes it 30 for Ursa Major!

We’re off the mark for 2023 after Wreck It Ryley won on his handicap debut at Southwell.

The three-year-old powered to victory after three promising novice runs gave him a rating of 62.

He saw off the challenge of Debydinks to score by a nose in the closest of finishes for Sam James and Grant Tuer.

It makes it a historic 30 winners for Ursa Major Racing - a huge milestone as we approach our fifth birthday.

Craig Talbot, Racing Manager and founder of Ursa Major, said: “Never when we started did I think we woudl grow this thriving racing family up to such a landmark.

“It is extra special this victory as one of the owners named the horse after his son, so this means a lot to everyone.

“Ryley didn’t make it to the track at two, but we have been increasingly confident he was a winner of waiting and to get that on his first handicap start is just brilliant.

“Thank you everyone.”
