Ghadbbaan's fine third caps off terrific Ursa owners' day

It was one of the greatest days in Ursa Major history - and our owners’ day at York was capped with a terrific run by Ghadbbaan who finished third.

More than 100 owners, family members and our trainers were in attendance at the Knavesmire to celebrate everything about Ursa Major.

And on the track, Ghadbbaan returned from a break - and a wind op - to finish a terrific third in the 2m handicap for Mark Walford and Jason Hart.

The day started in terrific fashion, with bacon and sausage sarnies and lashings of tea and coffee served at Mark Walford’s yard as our nine horses in training at Cornborough were paraded.

It was then down to the best racecourse in the UK for a day which featured a private box, plenty of laughs ad food and drink galore.

Craig Talbot, Racing Manager, said: “I am truly blown away here. I cannot believe i have been lucky enough to grow this tremendous racing club.

“It is one of the best days ever and there were so many happy faces and such a huge number of owners in attendance.

“To cap it all Ghadbbaan ran a terrific race in third and he will be winning again soon.

“Thank you to everyone who has come and thanks to Mark for hosting us this morning and also Katie Scott who came to meet everyone too.”

With huge thanks to Sarah Shears for the pictures
