Fair fourth for favourite Ghadbbaan

A slow pace and an undulating track were the undoing of Ghadbbaan who finished fourth at Catterick.

The six-year-old ran a fair race, but never really threatened despite going off 6/4 favourite - but we have learned plenty to allow him to hopefully bounce back next time.

A long straight and a better race with a faster pace look key to unlocking the best in the gelding.

Ryan Sexton, jockey, said: “He was keen the whole way and he was staying on at the end but they sprinted away from him.

“Had they gone quick the whole he would have been okay.”

It was not our day today, but such is racing - onwards and upwards now to his next run.
