Christmas week a busy one - with trio of runners planned

We are getting Christmas week off to a great start with three runners and plenty of owners on track ready to begin their festive celebrations.

Buford, Texas Boy and Ingleby Mackenzie are set to take their chances this week, before we have a glut of runners between Christmas and New Year.

Buford (Mark Walford/Sam James) has his second run after his wind operation at Newcastle on Tuesday (3.13) and we are looking for a nice step forward, with a place not out of the question.

Texas Boy (Rebecca Menzies/Phil Dennis) runs at Wolverhampton on Wednesday (5.00) and is looking to bounce back after a bit of a winter cold saw him not run to his best last time.

He is stepping up in distance and again he could well be in with a chance of a first four place.

We then head to Ayr on Thursday, with Ingleby Mackenzie (Ewan Whillans/Dylan Johnston) set to run in the 2m handicap hurdle.

Craig Talbot, Racing Manager, said: “It has been a frustrating couple of weeks with the weather playing havoc with plans for everyone in the game, so we are delighted to get three runners this week, which will allow many of our owners to have a great start to Christmas.

“Our runners are not without a chance and we can’t wait to see them out on track. We will then be back with a bang on Boxing Day.”
