First Ursa Major Winner with George Baker!

HIGHWAY ONE DELIVERS AN EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT AND WINS AT LINGFIELD!

Highway One secured her place into the Winners enclosure at the 31st time of asking and only after her second race in the Battenberg silks! She followed up a very promising 4th place over Hurdles at Fontwell under Richard Johnson to seal the win in the 3.35 Betway Casino Handicap at Lingfield on 21st December 2021 beating Gold Standard by a nose! Former AW champion jockey Adam Kirby gave her a perfect ride to deliver her on the line in the final strides.

Highway One has been a horse Ursa Major Racing has enjoyed a short term lease with in the month of December 2020 with George Baker. George has established himself as our go to trainer in the South of England and has bagged a winner for the club after only 3 other previous races we have enjoyed for the Battenberg Army under his trainer-ship! George is someone who the club are excited to continue their relationship with into 2021 and beyond!

Highway One picked up £3,881.40 in prize money for her win in the Class 6 race, which is very good considering the level of race it was. Due to the current Tier 4 regional lockdown in London and the South East of England, only one lucky share owner of Highway One was able to attend the race and see Highway’s win. They have kindly shared some of their pictures from the day.
