Ursa Moves Down South!
It’s no secret that Ursa Major Racing Club has been a predominantly Northern based club with a lot of our members living in Northern England and Scotland, and our primary trainer Mark Walford being based near Malton, Yorkshire. However, we have a large Southern base of members too who are desperate to see the Battenberg colours at a Southern track near them.
So, we are pleased to announce we have entered into 3-month lease agreements for NOT 1 BUT 2 HORSES with Southern trainers. The leases will start from October and run until the end of 2020. The horses are:
KAYARNAH - Trained by the exceptional George Baker. Winner of a bumper then 2nd on Tuesday under a penalty. She will take high rank in juvenile hurdles
ISLAND STORM - Trained by the fantastic Heather Main. Won twice on the AW last season. We are really pleased for our owners to get the chance to have some fun with him too.
All horses will run at Southern tracks, for Island Storm this will be all the All-Weather tracks (Chelmsford, Lingfield etc) and for Kayarnah at the Southern jump’s tracks. All horses will run in the world-famous Battenberg colours as well! Please watch this space for their entries into races soon!
We now have 12 horses in training with 3 different trainers and who knows there could be more to come very soon!
